Product Of The Week
This weeks product of the week is Six Penny Memories 'Colliery Days' book.
This fantastic new book is completely different to anything you may have seen before.
It is more than a project book. Set in the North East of England and a stones throw from The Fat Quarters it is a must for quilters new and old.
The projects are easy to understand,and the templates are full size.
'Canny Keepsakes - Colliery Days' Description
Florrie & Betty took inspiration from the rich heritage around them. As Beamish Open Air Museum is on their doorstep they focused on the Colliery Village, rebuilt and set in 1913.
They loosely broadened the era to include the late Victorian and Edwardian periods. The fabric range they have used complements the era, producing a vintage feel with a contemporary twist.
Over twenty projects are interwoven with Florrie's memories, Betty's rhymes and recipes, and some really beautiful imagery.

Newsletter
Hello
Since the last Newsletter we have had quite a few New Arrivals in store so I thought I would give you all a quick update. The good news is everything is included in our 25% SUMMER SALE.
We have had some fabulous Disney Panels arrive. Princess Ariel from The Little Mermaid is perfect for girls of all ages and Winnie the Pooh 'Fly Little Kite' Panel is timeless. In addition we have some co-ordinating Fabrics.
The Bazooples 'Camp Out' Panel is so lovely, have a look at the faces of the animals my favourite is the zebra and again there is a co-ordinating fabric.
From Moda the Brand New 'Snowman Gatherings 3' Jelly Rolls, Layer Cakes and Charm Packs have arrived in store and we also received recently from the Moda designers 3 Sisters 'Snowberry '. We only have Charm Packs & one Jelly Roll left in this range as they have been so popular. In the 25% SALE the Jelly Rolls and Layer Cakes are reduced to £24.74 and the Charm Packs £8.99
The Aurifil threads are re-stocked and we have the Tilda Planner 2018 which is a perfect gift for a friend or to yourself.
We are pleased to say that the outstanding Grunge 'Hit the Spots' fabrics from Moda are now in store, I had to have a play with them and have made a Runner which will be featured on TV this weekend.
Kim is on Hochanda TV with Six Penny Memories on Sunday 30th July at 8am, 11am & 2pm.

Your visits!
Hello,
We've had a few visits from people from quite far away this week! We've had visitors from Suffolk, Glasgow, Isle of Arran and Hertfordshire while they have been on their holidays up here in the North East. If you are up here in the North East for your holidays pop in and see us, we love to know where people travel from to come to see our quilting shop. We are located around 10 miles from Newcastle City centre and are also on a bus route, numbers 47 and 10A. We have parking outside of the shop for those who are driving. This week at The Fat Quarters

Just to let you know what's happening this week here at Thr Fat Quarters.
Classes
We have our Workshop on Wednesday morning, 10:15am-12:45pm.
Friday 14th July
10:15am-2:30pm, Hand Quilting
Quilting by hand is a traditional pastime particularly in the North East. During the class you will be shown how to draft a pattern to the fabric, how to make a pattern fit to your project, how to hoop up the fabric and how to hand quilt. We will also discuss what needles and threads to use.
Included in the class will be an instructional leaflet which includes hints tips and a quilting template for you to take home. Suitable for beginners. £15.
Saturday 15th July
10:15am-12:30pm Overlocker Beginners
This Class is a must for anyone who has an Overlocker Machine or is thinking about buying one. We will introduce you to the basics of the Overlocker, threading, cleaning and the basic stitches and adjustments that can be made. Cost £10.
This weeks 'Product of the Week' is Fat Packs. In each fat pack there are 4 fat quarters from a range of fabric. The fabrics are matched together so they will go well together in a project. We have a lot of different types of fat packs including children's, Christmas floral and batiks. The fat packs are included in our summer sale and prices start from only £6.71. The weather in the North East has not been very good this last week, bad for the garden but on a plus plenty of opportunity for sewing.
The 25% SUMMER SALE continues.
New in this week is the Moda 'Grunge Hit the Spot' Fabric which is reduced to £11.20 in the Sale.
The latest edition of the 'SEW' magazine has arrived. In the August issue there is a good mix of Dressmaking & Patchwork projects.
We have a selection of Amy Butler Fabrics which are perfect for Dressmaking or Patchwork.
Check out the Fabric Panels, the 'Windy Day' Panel is very versatile, it could be cut up to make several sewing projects and is now reduced to £5.62.
Our Brother Dealer Event is on Wednesday 19th & Thursday 20th July.
On Wednesday morning we have a PED PLUS/2 software class and in the afternoon we have a PE Design 10software class. Both classes are ideal if you have or are looking to purchase software, book now as places are limited.
Throughout the Event we will be offering 0% Finance on certain models as well as Special Offers on all of the Sewing & Embroidery machines. Call in for a demonstration, No booking is required.
Kim is on Hochanda TV on Sunday 9th July with Six Penny Memories at 6pm & 8pm and on Monday 10th July at 9am, 1pm & 5pm with her debut on TV in the Netherlands at 7am.
