Tackling Broderie Perse in this session. Whilst it is french for Persian embroidery it is actually applique.
Take a floral fabric as seen in the photo and create a new design.

We have had a very busy and exciting day with New Fabrics arriving in store.
From Moda we have some beautiful 'Poetry Collection Wovens'. In amongst the muted colours is a lovelyblue and pink. As you would expect from Moda the quality is amazing.
We also have had Moda 'Spellbound' arrive as well. The Pinks and Purples are really rich in colour.
In addition we have had a New Range in from Dashwood Fabrics. The range is called 'Confetti' and is perfect for Patchwork but I can see me making a new top or dress from these.
If you spend over £20 apply the Promotion Code MY20POUNDS it will reduce the Fabrics from £14 per metre to £12.60.

Mandy Pattullo

Our new Product Of The Week is the new 'Imagine' book by Nancy Halvorsen.
The book is made up of 12 blocks with scenes from throughout the year such as snowmen for winter, hearts for Fenruary and a pumpkin for October. The different blocks can be made into one quilt which finishes at 66" x 85" .
Alternatively you can make the blocks into small hangings or cushion covers. You can also make banners (bunting) to hang around your home.
The book will take you trough each block with sizes, quantities and step by step guides . In the centre of the book Nancu has included the templates for each project. She has also written at the front which companies she has used for extra items such as buttons and hangers.

We've just received some new extra wide fabrics from Nutex.
We have three new fabrics available.
1) We have an olive green background with darker green spots on it. £16 per metre
2) One with a black background and Multi- coloured swirls. £13 per metre
3) A cream background with cream vines. £16 per metre.
All three of the fabrics are 110" wide. They are perfect for backings for quilts as they can be put on the back as one piece.

Classes in May & June

This is our class list for the next couple of months, We have added a few extra classes in.
Our classes are held in our large studio attached to our shop. Most of the classes are taught by Kim who is part of the Sixpenny Memories team that some of you may have seen on the TV craft channel Hochanda. Kim has taught all over the UK and loves passing her expert knowledge of patchwork onto others. We keep our costs down to make sure that everyone is able to come along. We have disabled access, toilet facilities and lots of free parking outside of the shop. (Terms, conditions and exclusions apply, loyalty card is 1 point per £20 spend).

Garment Carrier Class

We have a 'Garment Carrier' class on Friday 19th May 10:15am-2:30pm or Saturday 20th May 10:15am-2:30pm.
If you watch Sixpenny Memories on Hochanda you may have seen the garment carrier. It's an ideal project to make for holidays and weddings to carry special garments in.
You will only need one Layer Cake to make the garment carrier which will finish at an approx size of 57" x 27".
During the class you will learn patchwork, how to insert a zip and other useful tips.

Beginners class
Hello
We have added a new class for anyone who is a beginner to patchwork on July 8th, 10:15am-12:30pm.
In the class you will learn skills that you will put together to make a cushion. You will be covering piecing, decorative stitching, overcasting stitch and how to make an envelope back. You will go home with a finished cushion at the end of the class,
This class is ideal for anyone who would like to start patchworking and isn't sure how to begin.
The class is £15 which includes the fabrics to make the cushion.

Product of the Week
Hello
Just a little update on this weeks 'Product of the Week' which is Prym Adhesive Spray.
Ideal for quick positioning of fabric layers.
Fabric and paper can be easily repositioned.
Does not gum up needles.
The excess can be removed with water and soap.
The spray can be used for quilts and for small projects instead of pinning to things in place.
It is £12.50 per can which is 250ml.
Available in store only.
