This weather isn't very summery at the moment is it? It perfect weather for quilting and sewing though! Use the weather to your advantage and get up to date with your projects. Why not use our summer sale to your advantage and get yourself some fabric for new projects or top up your sewing kit. We have quite a few people who come to our workshops that are starting their Christmas projects. We have some new Christmas fabric from Nutex which are included in our 25% sale! Friday 7th July 10:15am-2:30pm
Patchwork and Quilting Techniques
Hawaiian Appliqué & Quilting using the Sewing Machine. Whilst this form of appliqué is traditionally done by hand we will tackle it using the sewing machine. The first part of the session we will look at the appliqué design and its traditions and then we will quilt the block. Ideal for beginners.
Cost £17.

Beginners Get to know your Sewing Machine
Get to Know your Machine whilst making this lovely cushion.
During the class you will learn how to thread the machine, piece fabric together, look at the different stitches on your machine and make an envelope back.
The class includes all fabrics.
Cost £15.
Tuesday 11th July 10:15am-2:30pm
Broderie Perse
Learn Broderie Perse in this session. Whilst it is french for Persian embroidery it is actually applique.
Take a floral fabric as seen in the photo and create a new design. Simple fun and ideal for beginners.
Cost £17.

Hand Quilting
Quilting by hand is a traditional pastime particularly in the North East. During the class you will be shown how to draft a pattern to the fabric, how to make a pattern fit to your project, how to hoop up the fabric and how to hand quilt. We will also discuss what needles and threads to use.
Included in the class will be an instructional leaflet which includes hints tips and a quilting template for you to take home. Suitable for beginners.

This Class is a must for anyone who has an Overlocker Machine or is thinking about buying one. We will introduce you to the basics of the Overlocker, threading, cleaning and the basic stitches and adjustments that can be made. Cost £10.

Brother event!

I'm very excited to tell everyone about our Brother event we have coming up in July. Melanie from Brother will be here on Wednesday 19th & Thursday 20th July.
On Wednesday 19th of July Melanie will be running two classes on Brother Software.
The first class will be 10:30am-12:30pm and will be all about the Brother PED PLUS and PED 2 software. This class will be perfect for anyone who has the software and is unsure how to make the most of it or for anyone who is thinking of buying the software.
The second class will be 1:30pm-3:30pm and will be about the Brother PE DESIGN 10 software. This class will be great for those who have this software, anyone who is thinking of getting this software or anyone who has the PED PLUS or PED 2 and would like to upgrade.
