As some of you may know I have been poorly after a recent operation but I am now on the mend and am able to spend more time at the shop. Myself and Debbie will be on Hochanda TV this Sunday 29th April for Sixpenny Memories. The times of the shows are 8am and 11am.

This weeks 'Book of the Week' is Colliery Days by Six Penny Memories.
This fantastic new book is completely different to anything you may have seen before.
It is more than a project book. Set in the North East of England and a stones throw from The Fat Quarters it is a must for quilters new and old.
The projects are easy to understand,and the templates are full size.
'Canny Keepsakes - Colliery Days' Description
Florrie & Betty took inspiration from the rich heritage around them. As Beamish Open Air Museum is on their doorstep they focused on the Colliery Village, rebuilt and set in 1913.
They loosely broadened the era to include the late Victorian and Edwardian periods. The fabric range they have used complements the era, producing a vintage feel with a contemporary twist.
Over twenty projects are interwoven with Florrie's memories, Betty's rhymes and recipes, and some really beautiful imagery.

It's been a beautiful week of weather this week! Have you all been enjoying the sunshine? We are so pleased the weather in the North East is a little warmer and at last it feels like Spring.
The latest Moda Pre-Cuts have arrived in store 'Evelyns Homestead 1880-1900' The colours are rich and typical of the Civil War Era.

The Vlieseline Thermolam Wadding whilst brilliant for Bag Making works perfectly on Embroidery Machines. We had a Class last week doing Appliqué in the Hoop and the results were amazing.

Have you all had a lovely week? It's a brighter day here in the North East after the rain we've had all week! Have you got something nice planned for the weekend? We had a group of ladies in this morning doing a Machine Embroidery class using a Sweet Pea designs. They all thoroughly enjoyed it and their work was beautiful! Head to our Facebook page to have a look at what they were doing. We have a busy week next week with workshops, a Proggy mat class and an Overlocker class.
