Patchwork and Quilting Techniques
Hawaiian Appliqué & Quilting using the Sewing Machine. Whilst this form of appliqué is traditionally done by hand we will tackle it using the sewing machine. The first part of the session we will look at the appliqué design and its traditions and then we will quilt the block. Ideal for beginners.

Beginners Get to know your Sewing Machine
Get to Know your Machine whilst making this lovely cushion.
During the class you will learn how to thread the machine, piece fabric together, look at the different stitches on your machine and make an envelope back.
The class includes all fabrics.

Broderie Perse
Learn Broderie Perse in this session. Whilst it is french for Persian embroidery it is actually applique.
Take a floral fabric as seen in the photo and create a new design. Simple fun and ideal for beginners.

Hand Quilting
Quilting by hand is a traditional pastime particularly in the North East. During the class you will be shown how to draft a pattern to the fabric, how to make a pattern fit to your project, how to hoop up the fabric and how to hand quilt. We will also discuss what needles and threads to use.
Included in the class will be an instructional leaflet which includes hints tips and a quilting template for you to take home. Suitable for beginners.

Beginners Overlocker
This Class is a must for anyone who has an Overlocker Machine or is thinking about buying one. We will introduce you to the basics of the Overlocker, threading, cleaning and the basic stitches and adjustments that can be made. Cost £10.

Overlocker Bag
During the Class we will be using our Overlocker Machines to make a useful Bag.
The Class will get you using the Overlocker and build up your confidence with it and as bonus you will go home with a finished project. Cost £10.

Brother PED plus & PED 2 software class
The only class in the North that teaches you how to get the most out of the Brother Embroidery Software. Our expert Melanie will guide you through various aspects of the PED PLUS or PED PLUS 2 software maximising the potential of your Embroidery Machine. The session is ideal if you already own software or are thinking of buying some. Cost £15.

Free Machine Quilting Sampler Cushion
Try out the different ways of Free Machine Sewing in this class. The Class will show you how to set up your Sewing Machine for Free Machine Sewing and you will make a set of sample blocks that can be incorporated into a Cushion. Cost £10.
